From 1995 until 2017, Swansea Motor Club promoted speed hill climbs at Llys y Fran Country Park in Pembrokeshire.
The July 2016 event was awarded the Russ Ward Trophy for ‘best’ round of the HSA Championship in the SBD Motorsport HSA Speed Championship. The award was presented to the chairman, Neil Samuel, at the HSA awards’ lunch held in the Prescott club house on November 27th, by Kim Broughton of SBD.
The course was almost 1km long and was considered to be one of the more technical courses on the calendar. An unusual feature of the course was that it started downhill!
