Llys Y Fran 2019 news

Unfortunately, Swansea Motor Club are unable to hold any hill climbs at Llys y Fran during 2019 because the planned building works have been delayed following the collapse of the main contractor Dawnus.

It is now looking very unlikely that we will be able to run any events there in 2020 either so we hope a return will be possible in 2021.

In the meantime, please keep up to date with any news by following our facebook page – use the link at the top of the page.

Wrapping tyres.

Wrapping the tyres to create a safety barrier.

Tyres are bolted together and wrapped with ‘industrial black film’ to create safety barriers around the track. Before the May event, many tyre towers are placed in strategic locations around the track. After the July event, the tyres are removed and stored ready for the following year.

The dam wall.

There was not much over spill that day. Sometimes there is a lot of water flowing down the wall and occasionally there is a big spurt of water arching to the left from the control building.
